PESTILENCE
“Pestilence” was derived from the idea of a modern take on the straight jacket. Conceptually, we are dealing with the deceptive qualities of human beings, pertaining to the use of mental asylums. Initially, asylums were considered to be a place of refuge but generally turned out to be the opposite.
“Pestilence” seeks to portray the destruction of human beings through human fallacy. Through various digitally printed techniques and fabric manipulations to mimic decay and fungus, our project represents the human mind and how the environment can overtake it.
